It's Christmas in July and the color is Pink

Well, trying to get back in the groove after a wonderful relaxing week at the beach has not been easy. I am trying to get out of this beach mode but being a lady of leisure has its advantages!!

Today is the kick-off for Christmas in July Shop Hop and Show and Tell Monday at Make Mine Pink. I had so much fun creating these little wreaths, my grandchildren have volunteered to help thread the lace onto the wire. Sounds like great fun to me! They are all at the ages that they probably will be very good at it and I have promised them a pay day if we sell them!

So without further ado, may I present Nana and the Gang's lace miniwreath--

Aren't they cute? To those that leave a comment, you will be entered into a random drawing to own one of your own. Good luck!

I'M HOME

Have been off to a week long vacation at the Jersey shore. It was absolutely wonderful. We had the most perfect weather for the entire week. We had about 15 minutes worth of rain on Friday afternoon. The water was amazingly clear but there were some devilish rip tides to contend with. We were watching the grandchildren like hawks. One day, we watched our poor lifeguards make 22 rescues. I can't tell you how hard these kids work to keep us safe. By the end of that one day, the poor kids could barely pull their lifeguard stand up to the dunes. I know they won't see this but, kudos, you kids are amazing. (in case anyone reading this knows some of the lifeguards on LBI (Long Beach Island), NJ.

Now, for me, it's make to work. Have a clear head and some really wonderful ideas. Don't forget the Christmas In July Shop Hop starts Monday, 7/21. Find as many shopping bag logos as you can, one each on the participating Make Mine Pink boutiques. Many wonderful prizes for finding them, check this out at the www.makeminepink.com and then click on the shop hop logo.

Good luck to everyone, hope you win a prize!

Butterflies????

This news just in .... Reports have been received that a herd of insect-frightening butterflies have descended on the little hamlet of Bullville. They have a propensity for hovering around porches. They are approximately 3" by 5". They have shown to be harmless to humans and pets, but are aggressive about defending their territory from other flying insects. They appear to travel in trios and come in assorted colors and markings. Come to see a better view tomorrow at the Pink Friday page at Patricia Rose: A Potpourri of Fabric, Fragrance and Findings.
After spotting the butterflies at Patricia Rose make sure to click on the Pink Friday logo and visit all the other boutiques to see what's new on everyone's Cottage Porch!

Pink Friday-7/11/08- The Cottage Porch

Here it comes again--Pink Friday! These weeks seem to be flying by faster and faster lately. This week's theme is 'The Cottage Porch'. Porches are one of my favorite things. I have a nice glider on our porch that I like to sit and read in, 4 nice white rockers, a table and a few chairs for coffee in the mornings. My shrubs have gotten big enough to hide behind, so I can do some surreptious sipping in my jammies and nobody knows I'm there--don't tell the neighbors.

I wonder what goodies the Make Mine Pink Boutiques will come up with this time. I just love seeing what treasures everyone has made or found. There have been some wonderful ones over the past few weeks. People are showing up in the wee hours of the morning to get first dibs on things--yikes! This is some serious shopping. Don't miss out--be there or be square as our fearless leader, Joyce, says.

I have managed to get a few things made for this week, it was good to be inspired. See you on Friday.

Don't forget to mark your calendars--Make Mine Pink Shop Hop - Christmas in July is the week of 7/21/08. There will be prizes awarded to some lucky shoppers and they are always amazing.

July Shop Hop

Christmas in July Shop Hop will begin July 21st through the 27th! You'll have a week to get a head start on your christmas shopping and decorating while at the same time earning chances at fabulous CHRISTMAS IN JULY prizes!
Want a jump start on the competition? Sign up now, and you'll be ready when the contest officially starts!
How it Works
Many of our MMP members (see the bottom of this page for a complete list) have hidden a special shopping bag (as shown below) on their websites. There is only one shopping bag image per website. Search through their websites until you find the bag. Once you've found it, click it to return to Make Mine Pink and as a registered participant you will automatically receive credit for it. The more bags you find, the better the prizes get. When the shop hop ends, we will hold a drawing for each prize level. Signing up is free and there's no purchase necessary to participate, so there's no reason not to play!
We encourage you to look around the members' websites while searching for the shopping bags, and, if you find something you like, bookmark the page so you can return later. Have fun and good luck!

Show and Tell Monday, 7/7/2008

It has be a quiet 4th of July weekend here. I had to work, so there wasn't any gallavanting about. I have today off, so out to the garden to harvest some of the Bergamot (Bee Balm). They make such a show for the 4th, the bright red flowers look like fireworks, don't they?

I'm getting really excited, we go to the beach this coming Saturday for a week. I have a craving for the ocean. I really need to see the ocean periodically for my mental health. Have a wonderful week, don't forget to visit Make Mine Pink for Pink Friday.
