Week of the Kitchen Redo

Busy, busy week here in the ol' homestead and lots to share with you. As many of you know, I have had my hubby in the hospital since January and so have had to do daily hospital runs. I have been watching this tree from complete dormancy to glorious flowering. Look at the view out this window, not to bad to watch now! Just had to share this, it's so beautiful.

This past weekend, my youngest grandaughter made her First Communion. I was able to get a day pass for my hubs to come with us so I was pretty busy during the celebration but did manage to get this photo. My grandaughter is the first girl on the right with her back to us. (There is a reason I am not the family photographer! lol) She looked like an angel and fairy princess all rolled up into one. This is the infamous Bridget who has been known to come out with some pretty funny observations on life.

And then on Monday, for some unknown reason, I decided it would be a great idea to redo my kitchen. I started ripping things apart before I thought to take some before pictures. I took a photo of the first cupboard with it's brand new sparkly antique linen interior! Looks brighter already. The cabinets and woodwork are the bear of a job in this room. The walls will be a piece of cake! I'm still undecided whether to go with a golden yellow or a sagey green or a robin eggy blue. Please weigh in with opinions, I need some help here!!! (Great way to redecorate, color by vote, lol)

On the business side of things this week, there is the Mother's Day Shop Hop at Make Mine Pink beginning April 25th. Make sure to go to http://www.makeminepink.com/ to sign up and get registered so you are all set to find those shopping bags the boutique owners have hidden on our websites. Lots of great prizes, as usual, and no purchase necessary - but it is a great way to find your Mother's Day gifts while having fun and relaxing at home.

This week's Make Mine Pink Friday theme is Celebrating Mom. Are you seeing the trend here? Come and shop the new products for Mother's Day. I have a new gift item that will debut on Friday( http://www.patriciarose-apotpourri.com/ ) and many of the other participating boutiques have special gift items as well.
So back to my painting, will see you next week. Hope I have after pictures by then. I don't know how long my sanity will hold with this mess!
Hugs,
Pat

Hi Pat, love the picture of the tree, it is so pretty! Hope hubby is doing better. Must be very hard on you. Your grand daughter is adorable and you must be so proud!

Kitchen redo...oh boy! I have yellow glazed/ragged in mine now since I have a lot of primitives in it...but...I LOVE the new blue that is highlighted in all the magazines! If it wasn't for the fact that I just had mine down this past winter, I'd change it! Matter of fact I just told my DD that I am ready to unload some of the many primitive mixing bowls I've collected. It's funny how our tastes change with age, well, at least my age. I still love pink but not for my kitchen :>)
Whatever you choose be sure to update us!

Looking forward to more pictures or your kitchen redo. Love what I see so far.

Take care.

Hmmm, the picture of the cabinet interior painted white seems to have vanished! Well, there are the before's of two corners of my world.

Hi Pat,
Loved the picture of the tree. What a beautiful view. How sweet your grand daughter looks, even from the back. I am looking forward to seeing your kitchen. Mine is yellow with white cabinets, but every now and then I think about glazing the cabinets with robin egg blue. Since I am too busy (read as lazy) they will probably stay white. Marie

The tree is oh so pretty! Prayers for your sweet husband. I think green would be pretty, but that is what I am stuck on for the moment! I am so happy to find you! If you have a moment stop by http://shabbychictreasures.blogspot.com/
I am giving away a pretty rose teapot for the month of April!
