Welcome, glad you came to visit. Check in periodically to find out about specials at Patricia Rose, to share some herbal information I have learned about and a recipe here and there. Let's just enjoy a nice chat together. Looking forward to seeing you frequently!

Show and Tell Monday, 3/23/09

With all the talk of planting a garden, reusing and recycling, I wanted to share something with you. A friend of mine, Tina, publishes a magazine The Essential Herbal. Last year she published an entire issue about these very things. A woman ahead of her time, the issue has sold out.

If the White House can do it, I guess we should think about it as well. If you have never eaten a tomato sun warmed, right off the vine, you just don't know what summer tastes like. There are so many fun ways to do a garden. How about a pizza garden? Some tomatoes, some basil, some oregano--you can even grow your own garlic or garlic chives! How much fun to go outside and pick all the ingredients for your own freshly baked gourmet pizza! Plant lots of basil in this same grouping and it's your pesto garden. Feels downright decadent to open the freezer in the dead of January and have fresh pesto ready for pasta. So please, go have a visit with Tina and her family and enjoy all the articles she's offered. You can also subscribe to her magazine if it''s something you enjoy. This Friday at Make Mine Pink, our Pink Friday theme will be Easter Memories. Lots of springtime beauties are being stitched and stuffed and fluffed. Should be beautiful. Come join us for shopping with a twist.
Have a terrific week everyone.

Pat,
What a fun idea for a garden. We (or should I say my DH and children) plant a garden every year with all kinds of yummy veggies. It is like heaven to pick the fresh stuff and eat it that day.

I love books like this 'The Good Life' effect and how true fresh grown in your own garden, nothing like it.
Our county is running out of allotments this year as more people grow their own. Thank you for sharing

Hi Pat,
Thank you for the lovely comment on my blog. As you can see, I started writing again...I hope to find a little time to visit all of my friends. I love the thought of a pizza garden. Our garden is starting to blossom and today, our morning doves were finally seen nesting in our back yard. Now I know that Spring is here! Hope all is well with you!!!
